Future Ready Activity
The Pipe Cleaner Challenge is a great Future Ready activity that can be added into any classroom setting and pipe cleaners are pretty inexpensive. The Pipe Cleaner Challenge cards comes with the following items.
- 16 Pre-made challenges
- 3 blank cards for the students to design their own challenges
- Teacher directions
- Discussion questions to be used with teachers during a workshop setting. The questions guide the teachers on how they might be able to use the pipe cleaner challenge in their own classroom.
Bonus: This is how I would use the Pipe Cleaner Challenge in my classroom.
Monday: Students pick a challenge card and create the challenge during a Phase Two checklist
Tuesday: The students will finish working on their creation. Next they will take a photo of the creation and the photo to seesaw.me
Wednesday: The students will visit seesaw.me and view other student creations. They will comment on the other student creations using complete sentences and positive comments.
Thursday: Students will generate their own challenge cards
Friday: The students get a chance to try build one of the new challenge cards.
Standards: I would tie in the standards to the comments, reflections, and tie the creations back to the mini lesson.
